What goes in a pet first-aid kit?
The answer
A general kit holds emergency phone numbers, your pet's records, a spare leash and collar, towels, gauze and bandage wrap, tape, blunt-tipped scissors, disposable gloves, a flashlight and a carrier. We do not recommend specific medicines or doses, because the right choice depends on your pet and should come from your veterinarian. Check the kit regularly and replace anything used or out of date. A kit supports your trip to the clinic and never replaces it.
