What is triage and why might I wait?
The answer
Triage means patients are seen in order of medical urgency rather than arrival time. A pet with a life-threatening problem will be seen before one with a stable condition, even if the second arrived first. Waits can be frustrating, but the system exists to help the most critical cases first. Ask staff how long they expect the wait to be, keep your pet in its carrier or on a lead, and tell them right away if your pet's condition changes while you wait.
